Cuisine Communautaire Haitienne better known as “Cuisine Tropicale” is a community-based restaurant founded in 2020 by 2 members of the Haitian community in Sudbury. The idea came up right at the beginning of the pandemic in response to a desire to share Haitian-based Afro-Caribbean food with Sudbury communities. Before opening Cuisine Tropical at 893 Notre Dame Ave., for several months, our customers would call to place their orders and get their meals delivered according to the menu that we prepare at home. But at the end of 2020, we decided to move forward with the idea by opening the restaurant in a nicely renovated place on Notre Dame to better serve our delicious cuisine.
